Rowen Waters

Rev. Rowen is a senior church medium and Spiritualist Minister at the Calgary First Spiritualist Church (CFSC). She has been privileged to attend the advanced mediumship circle with CFSC senior church medium Louise Gebhart since December 2022. Before arriving at Calgary First, Rowen sat for four years in a private trance mediumship circle led by Morag MacLennan, a long-time member of the SNU, UK. In 2023 Rowen also attended an advanced virtual mediumship circle hosted by senior Arthur Findlay tutor Eileen Davies, LS SNU. Early during the pandemic, Rowen received the calling to become an ordained Spiritualist Minister and was ordained with the Spiritualist Church of Canada on April 7, 2024, at Calgary First Spiritualist Church. Rowen passed her senior mediumship tests in April 2025. As a senior church medium, Rowen now brings messages from Spirit at CFSC’s Wednesday and Sunday services and the Eternity Connection’s Sunday service.

I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW, with a clinical specialization in working with adults). I have had 25+ years counselling experience in public health and non-profit counselling centres. As a trauma informed solutions-focussed therapist, I meet with the client and discuss their needs for counselling, proceeding with safe and empathetic stabilizing interventions designed to further validate their own intuitive clarity and life path choices. As a therapist I seek to remain responsive and focussed on the inner solutions, resiliency and strengths of my clients. I have an eclectic approach which utilizes a variety of modalities tailored to my client’s unique stated goals for therapy. My therapeutic goal is to assist my clients to access an altered and expanded state of awareness called trance, utilizing clinical hypnosis techniques, somatic feedback, mindfulness breathwork and non-talk modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). By accessing this state of expanded awareness, my clients can quickly co-create their unique solutions to problems and/or process their trauma.

As an ordained Spiritualist Minister and yoga teacher my intention is to create a space of therapeutic sanctuary for my client, while holding the energy and providing therapeutic support for my client’s connection to Spirit and self-healing.
